MOTHERING
This is Kaye Marconi and this is in the Middle of the Night. Thanks for waking with me and leaving your warm sheets to slipper slide around the night light kitchen and have a snack and engage in some "talk". I think I'll have some butterfly shrimp that we had last evening that were delicious and pour myself a glass of white wine and offer this snack to a God who likes us as single people and as couples too. I thank God for taking care of whom I have care for. And, God, I am always listening too. Amen.
How to keep your couple warmer and have more fun? We live in a whizzing pace world that demands a lot of us sometimes and the toll that this pace can ironically take on couples can be awful. I say “ironically”because as you know, I believe that this push button world was made to bring us closer to ourselves and closer to each other because now we have the time to be with eachother. We don’t have to travel two or three days to work, technology has helped gain all this nearness. We get on our commuter train or bus or in our carpool and go home. But, then, what, we have time for is dinner, put the kids to bed, shower, a long hug, if you get my drift, and we're sleeping for the next work day.
So, what about us (sighs slightly)? It’s important to make time for your each other. Weekends in a hotel will help the flame. Sending the kids to a babysitter and weekend alone at home helps to keep the fire going. I discovered that when I sent my kids to camp one summer that pitching a tent in the living room and playing "camping" with just hubby was great fun. We kept the tent up for about a month while the kids were away, we had a romantic blast (chuckles)!
Play sleep over with just your spouse or, tactfully, with other couples(chuckles slightly). Have a pajama party. Remember those? Make it innocent and warm fun. You know what I mean, girls get sleep with their own hubby and boys get to sleep with their own wife nothing like Bob,Ted, Carol and Alice, if it’s not your thing (laughter). These are fun things to do for your couple and to work against boring relationships, because what you plan to do will be memorable.
Picnics in the living room complete with checkered table clothe, wine, chicken, cheese, a loaf of bread and thou can stoked the fire. Reading love poetry to each other or writing love poems to each other can do it. With the kids away at the sitter, hey, the whole house is your love oyster, you can make love any where you darn well please thank you! Be creative in this push button world and make the time to be creative…you do have the time!

A great sponsor Chanel No. 5 is!
So, keep a long burning log in the hearth for yourselves as a couple. A romantic evening two or three times during the work week is alright too in order to keep the fire kindled. I have my signal saying it time to say, I am going to finish my delicious snack and brush my teeth and get back into my warm sheets and I know that you will get back into your own.
