This book is the first work to conduct the emergency logistics optimization problem under the epidemic environment (whether natural or man-made), which provides a new perspective for the application of optimization theory. In this book, the research methods involve epidemic dynamics, scenario-based emergency decision-making method, big data which combines the traditional and emerging technologies. The authors take epidemic outbreak as the research object and deeply integrate the epidemic spread model with the optimization model of emergency resource scheduling, which opens up a novel application area of operations research.&nbsp;<div><br></div>

<div>Liu Ming, Nanjing University of Science and Technology</div><div>Dr. Liu is currently an associate professor in School of Economics and Management, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China. He earned his Ph.D. degree in System Engineering from Southeast University, China. He is also a visiting researcher at RWTH Aachen University, Germany and University of Pittsburgh, USA. His research interests lie in the areas of epidemic logistics, data analysis and medical operations management. In recent 5 years, Dr. Liu has published several papers on famous international journals such as International Transactions in Operational Research, Transportation Research Part E, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering and International Journal of Systems Science, etc. He is co-author of three books in Chinese. He is an editor for International Journal of Transportation Engineering and is a regular reviewer for several other journals.</div><div><br></div><div>Cao Jie, Xuzhou University of Technology</div><div>Dr. Cao is currently a professor and vice president in Xuzhou University of Technology, China. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Management Science and Engineering from Southeast University, China. His research focus on emergency management, complex system analysis and management decision, information management and information system. In recent 5 years, Dr. Cao has published several papers on famous international journals such as Energy, Journal of Systems Science and Complexity, Chinese Journal of Management Science, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Journal of Systems Science and Mathematical Sciences, etc. He is co-author of many books in Chinese and also co-author of the book “Modern emergency management” in English. He earned several important awards in philosophical and social science area. In addition, he is the senior fellow in several important associations in China.</div><div><br></div><div>Liang Jing, Nanjing Polytechnic Institute</div><div>Mrs. Liang Jing is currently an assistant professor in School of Biology and Environment, Nanjing Polytechnic Institute, China. She earned her Master degree in Environment Engineering from Wuhan University of Science and Technology, China. After that, she worked in China Sunergy Company, Huaqi Environmental Science and Technology Co. Ltd, and hold the post of R&D Director for several years. Her research effort focuses on dynamic analysis on epidemic diffusion, environment engineering. She has published more than 10 papers in Chinese journals and obtained several patents on the related areas.</div><div><br></div><div>Chen MingJun, Affiliated Hospital of Jiangsu University</div><div>Dr. Chen is currently an assistant professor in the affiliated hospital of Jiangsu University. He is also the general office director in such hospital. Meanwhile, he is currently a Ph.D candidate in General Hospital of the Eastern Theater Command. During thepast decade, he has conducted several projects with the topic of hospital management, public health policy, medicine management, evaluation and decision in medical service and so on. His research effort focus on hospital operation management. He has published more than 10 papers in Chinese journals in the past five years.</div><div><br></div>
